In order to avoid any confusion that may arise thereafter, I would recommend you understand the steps involved by reading the following article.Come on; continue reading…
Salary determines the Type of Visa:
When it comes to a Singapore work visa, your salary is the deciding factor which would determine the type of ‘visa’. If your salary is less than or equal to $2,800/month, then you must apply for a work visa and if it’s more than $2,800/month, then you must go for an employment pass. Your employment passes are again divided into two categories as ‘P’ for the people who earn a minimum of $4,000/month and ‘Q’ for the people who can make from $2,800 to $4,000/month. Once you determined the type of visa you could get, follow the steps below:
Filling the Application Form:
Your application process would start with the ‘Form 8’ application form, which you need to fill by yourself. You can get this form from the ‘Singapore Ministry of Manpower’ official website. It would take just less than an hour to complete this step. It’s to be noted that it would require your signature, as well as the signature of your employer/sponsor.Also, you need to take at least 3 copies of this form.
Submitting your Application Form:
After filling your application form, you need to submit it to the ‘Singapore Immigration and Registration’ office. While doing so, you should enclose the copies of your passport and educational certificates. Not only these, you are also required to enclose photocopies of the documents that are listed in ‘Annex A’ of ‘Form 8’. Now, you pay your administration fee along with your application.
You must note that you might have to pay some additional fees after your assessment step.
Approval of your Application:
After at least of 5 weeks, your application will be approved. Sometimes, this process would take even longer duration. This is often noted during the peak time of the year. Once your application got the approval, your employer would receive an intimation letter called ‘In-Principle Approval’. Now, it’s he/she who is responsible for completing the process along with a secondary fee. After all these, your employer will receive another intimation called ‘Notification’ letter.
Once your employer has received the ‘Notification’, he/she will have to fix an appointment with you at the ‘Employment Pass Services Center’. During this, you will be registered along with your photos and fingerprints. Here again, you would have to take some documents along with you. You will see the details of documents in your notification letter.
Collecting the Visa:
After 4working days from the above step, you will be able to collect your official work visa from the ‘Employment Pass Services Center’.
